causes of acne

I also suffer from bad acne on my cheeks, but after I replaced my dairy milk with soy milk, it's all better now

Yes. Various studies have shown a strong association between intakes of milk, whether whole, semi skim or skimmed milk with worsening of acne in teenagers. A large study in Boston, Massachusetts; Hanover, New Hampshire; and Ibadan, Nigeria, involving 47,355 showed a significant association, just as cottage cheese and other forms of dairy products were implicated in the cause of acne.
Milk and dairy products cause or worsens acne, not because they contain hormones from the cow or goat, but because they have a type of protein that stimulate the release of insulin-like chemicals, which in turn, cause the release of androgens, or male type hormones, bringing about acne.
It’s good you found that association between milk and the cause of your acne, and that when you changed over to soy milk, your acne stopped.
Anyone who thinks milk might be causing his or acne can suspend milk and dairy products from your diet for one month and see if it makes a difference.
